Fall Semester: Week One Reflection

Hey y’all! So, classes started up this week, and I think it’s safe to say things are going super well! I got to meet all my professors, and they all seem awesome! I also got to meet with the professor that I will be working with to mentor students this semester, and she is super nice, and I really think I am going to enjoy working with her and her students! This week, I also worked at the Welcome Desk for the first time, and I really like it! It is a calming sort of environment, it is not too busy and so I have a very even work pace! I surprisingly haven’t had any issues with people not wearing masks, which is pretty nice, and which kind of takes some stress off of me. I was actually really worried in the beginning about people getting upset with me if I tell them they need to wear a mask, but there have been no issues so far! I’m slowly learning how to use the landline phone, which is a little new to me, but it’s not as difficult to use as I thought it would be! Before classes started this week, I also got to go around Muntz Hall and Walters Hall and hang up/take down a bunch of flyers! I really enjoy doing tasks like that because I love reorganizing things and making them look visually appealing, and so all the boards look so neat and nice and I really like it! Overall, this week was very fun, and I’m slowly getting used to most everything being virtual again, so I really think I’m going to have a great semester!
